Description

This one-day workshop (0.6 CEU in application) will be held on May 14, 2025 (8:30am - 4:30pm) at the firehall (5006 Saskatchewan St.) in Rosthern , SK  and is presented by Deblo Industries Ltd. in partnership with SWWA. The morning will be in the classroom and cover the following topics: AWWA Valve and Hydrant Specifications and General Standards, benefits of hydrant maintenance program, purchasing hydrants and valves, the difference between sliding gate and compression hydrants, installation problems, inspections, fire flow classifications. In the afternoon, attendees will go into the field/shop and work on hydrants, take them apart, discuss the repairs needed and reassembling hydrant. Hydrants and isolation valves will operated upon completion. PPE required for afternoon field/shop work (hard hat, steel-toed boots, work gloves, safety vest).
